Award-winning audio editing and mastering software reaches version 5, offers new DVD

Hamburg, 6th May 2004 – Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH today announced that the latest version of its
award-winning WaveLab audio editing and mastering application is now shipping to resellers worldwide. Offering
full multi-channel surround support, a video track and DVD Audio mastering and authoring, WaveLab 5 again
sets new standards in audio editing and mastering software, and will cost $699.99.
One of the major new releases in Steinberg’s 20th anniversary year, WaveLab 5 now encompasses a full set of DVD
Audio mastering and authoring tools, making WaveLab 5 the first and currently only application to support both CD-
Audio and DVD Audio formats within a unified interface. WaveLab 5 is also the first and currently only application to
combine all aspects of stereo and multi-channel high-resolution audio editing, processing, mastering and DVD-Audio
authoring/burning. “WaveLab 5 is without doubt the most important update yet for what has become a classic among
mastering tools. We are, of course, very proud to be able to offer surround and video support in WaveLab,” commented
Arnd Kaiser, Steinberg’s Senior Product Manager for Music Technology. “But perhaps even more important is the fact
that every CD mastering studio with WaveLab can now also offer DVD-Audio authoring without having to undergo extra
