The Ultimate Field Test?

Army Reserve Unit Deploys ADAM A5 Monitors in Iraq

Westlake Village, CA (October 3, 2008) – Staff Sergeant (SSG) Jim Blaine has been a broadcast journalist in the
Army for twelve years and is currently stationed at Camp Liberty near the Baghdad Int'l Airport, just minutes west
of downtown Baghdad. He is part of a public affairs team that provides broadcast, print and marketing services as
well as producing news stories on members of the military and civilians performing their jobs in theater.  The team
also provides media to DVIDS - Digital Video Imagery and Distribution System, a key component of news
reporting for the outside world.

These critical media services require equipment of the highest quality in performance, portability, and durability. For
Blaine’s Army Reserve Unit, the 354th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment, ADAM A5 Powered Monitors are serving
them well.

Blaine and his team rely on ADAM A5 Powered Monitors as part of their state-of-the-art mobile production studio
not only due to their high sound quality, but also size and durability. Facilities in combat zones must be highly
mobile, able to withstand extreme temperatures and dust, and provide the highest quality possible for critical news
reporting and documentation purposes.

“The A.R.T ribbon technology is really amazing,” says Blaine. ADAM’s folded ribbon tweeters have more mass and
are more rigid than traditional ribbon tweeters, making them more durable for mobile multimedia applications.
Complimenting the A5’s tweeter are 5” carbon fiber and Rohacell® woofers and 2 on-board 25W amplifiers. “They
provide a rich, full sound for such a small speaker,” adds Blaine.

The team also appreciates the multimedia capabilities of the A5s during a little well deserved R&R. SPC Sam Dillon
says he “likes the crystal clear sound” while listening to music from his iPod and SPC Justin Kuhl remarks on how
the speakers retain their sound even when “cranked up” while watching a movie on their 50” LCD HDTV. Blaine,
who turns to the classics to unwind, simply says “Zeppelin sounds better than ever!”
